Tracking Texas white lions

As we continue to research where Luna the white lion at Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary - Tyler TX came from, we have learned a breeding pair of white lions named Ngala and Motswari have resided at Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo in New Braunsfel, TX, since at least 2015. Animal World also has had 3 pumas at the facility since 2015.

In order to produce a white lion, at least one of the parents has to be white or carry the recessive gene. In 2019, Ngala and Motswari gave birth to the white lion cubs Nzula and Kali. According to USDA inspection reports, one additional puma also appeared at the facility.

One year earlier, a white lion cub and a puma appear on Tiger Creek’s transfer documents, arriving at the facility in 2018 from Jason Clay of Franklin Drive Thru Safari and East Texas Zoo and Gator Park. Clay does not own lions or pumas, according to USDA reports, and advertises himself online as an animal dealer. Is it possible that Luna and the puma were both born at Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo in 2018, were then sent to Jason Clay, who acted as a broker and sold them to Tiger Creek?

The two lions born at Animal World in 2019 have already been shipped off to Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch. Could Nzuri and Kali be Luna’s younger siblings?
